Transition to Teach

In an effort to grow our own teachers, the Frances Brownlie Foundation and the MISD Education Foundation have partnered to create a Transition to Teach Scholarship that will assist in funding Mansfield ISD paraprofessionals who want to become teachers.

The Frances Brownlie/MISD Education Foundation Transition to Teach (T3) Scholarship Program will allow paraprofessionals to maintain their position during the day while acquiring their education and teaching certification in the evenings and during the summer.

Program Guidelines

All interested Mansfield ISD paraprofessionals must complete the T3 application. Selected individuals will receive additional support through the MISD KEEPS program during student teaching and beyond. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Bachelor Degree Candidates:

  • Currently work in Mansfield ISD as a paraprofessional
  • Meet UTA Alternative Certification acceptance policies and requirements
  • Have a 2.5 GPA on the last 60 hours of college course work

NOTE: The application form must be completed in its entirety once it is started. At this time, we are only considering paraprofessional employees who hold a Bachelor's degree.
