Blaze Into Your Destiny-Post Secondary Planning
♦ 12th Graders: Seniors main focus: FAFSA/Scholarships! Financial Aid: Apply Early. Apply Right. Complete your FAFSA if you haven’t so you can get the most financial assistance for college. Continue your hunt for scholarships. A tip for scholarships is to apply for those that require more effort (such as an essay) to better your chances. Don’t let senioritis get to you, stay focused! You’re so close!
♦ 11th Graders: Juniors main focus: Planning Your Spring Testing Schedule! Worried that you will struggle on the SAT or ACT? Visit the GoCenter for FREE practice booklets for both the SAT/ACT and help with getting you registered! Access www.collegeboard.org and www.act.org for preparation and scheduling dates. Students with free or reduced lunch can receive fee waivers for the SAT/ACT from the GoCenter. Start visiting local colleges and get a feel for what works for you. Develop a list of 15-20 colleges that interest you. Search for colleges and use College Search through college board to find colleges that are suitable for YOU.
