PASSING THE TORCH: RISE OF THE THIRD GRADERS
Cabaniss Elementary prides itself in the tradition of giving students ownership in their school. Fourth-grade students step up to fill important roles in our school community. These duties include Flash Troopers who serve as a safety patrol each morning. Flag Corp members who raise and lower the American and Texas flags each day, Techies who turn on hall TVs, and set up library and lab computers for use. Other important student roles are Cabaniss News Network members, Mini-mentors and the Lost and Found Detectives. These roles are usually filled by responsible 4th graders. To them, we raise our hands to salute their faithfulness and good work.
As the close of this year sprints toward us, a new set of heroes are entering the scene ready to take over duties for the last few weeks and for the beginning of next year. 4th graders will start passing the torch to 3rd-grade students on May 1st. We thank the 4th graders and welcome the third!
