After a successful surgery and smooth recovery, Mansfield ISD Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu is excited to resume her normal duties.
Dr. Cantu will return from her medical leave on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
She started her leave on Aug. 17 after her doctor recommended she urgently proceed with a necessary surgery. The surgery went well, and Dr. Cantu has been cleared by her doctor to go back to work.
She said she cannot wait to continue serving the students, families and staff members of MISD.
"I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my time away. They meant the world to me," said Dr. Cantu. "I also want to commend our staff and the community as a whole for the tremendous cooperation that was exhibited as we continued the learning process virtually and in person."
In Dr. Cantu's absence, Dr. Deborah Cron was named the acting superintendent. Dr. Cron is a retired superintendent who held previous interim superintendent positions in Garland ISD and Duncanville ISD.
