Mansfield ISD students are among those who are being honored through the College Board National Recognition Program. The annual awards celebrate top-performing students who belong to communities that are historically underrepresented on college campuses.
The program acknowledges the academic achievements of students who are African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous/Native American, and students from rural areas and small towns. This year, for the first time in College Board History, awards will also be given to students who are the first in their families to attend college.
To be eligible, students must submit an application and meet the following criteria:
- Score in the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT test takers from the award program in their state or earn a score of 3 or higher on two or more distinct AP exams in 9th and/or 10th grade.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of B+ or higher (at least 3.3 or 87-89%) by the time of submission.
- Identify as first-generation, African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous/Native American, and/or attend a school in a rural area or small town.
These scholars have earned national recognition for their hard work and dedication to their academics, making them excellent candidates for college recruitment. Congratulations to all of our exceptional students on this well-deserved honor. For more information on the College Board National Recognition program, visit the organization’s website.
