Students Win Medals at State Track and Field Meet
Timberview girls relay team


Students from all of Mansfield ISD’s high school track and field programs represented at the UIL 2022 Track and Field State Meet on May 13 and 14.

After the final heat, 12 MISD student-athletes took home state medals for top finishes in their event.

The Timberview High School girls 4x100 relay team took home the gold medal for the 5A conference. The members of the state-winning team are Princess Miller, Adriane Nwonumah, Norah Nwonumah and Lola Mabon. Timberview High School’s girls track team also earned enough points to finish in second place overall in the conference.

Legacy High School’s Christine Mallard came home with a gold and silver medal. She finished first in the 5A 400-meter race and second place in the 200-meter race.

Lake Ridge High School’s 4x400 boys relay team took home a silver medal in the event. Jayden Blakey, Jacob Alexander, Chris Akins and Dominic Byles are the members of that state runner-up relay team. Timberview High School’s Taylor Fingers earned a silver medal in long jump as well.

Bronze medal winners included Mansfield High School’s Nathan Breese and Timberview High School’s Glennis Woolridge. Breese earned the medal in the 400-meter wheelchair event. Woolridge earned her third-place finish in shot put.
