MISD Student-Athletes Chosen for All-America Teams

The athletic skills of two Mansfield ISD students have given them recognition on the national level.

Timberview High School’s Jalen Kimber and Lake Ridge High School’s Madison Williams were recently named to All-America teams.

Kimber is the No. 6 cornerback in the country and No. 84 prospect overall, according to 247Sports Composite. The University of Georgia commit was chosen to play in the 2020 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in the Alamodome in San Antonio, which will feature the nation’s top 100 high school football players.

The All-American Bowl Selection Tour made a big stop at Timberview High on Nov. 12 to present the senior with his official jersey. The game will be nationally televised live on NBC on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 starting at noon CST.

Williams is an outside hitter who was named to the 2019 Under Armour Second-Team All-America roster. A record 894 nominations were submitted this year, resulting in 150 volleyball All-America and Honorable Mention All-Americans.

Williams was the team leader in kills and digs and ranked No. 21 in the state, according to MaxPreps. The senior suffered a torn ACL, but she is expected to have a full recovery in time for the beginning of her college season at The University of Texas at Austin.
