Mansfield ISD has been given the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded MISD with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. It is an honor the district consistently receives.
The award was given for the district’s 2018 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating financial transparency and clear communication.
“Everything we do is with the goal of providing our students with the best education possible,” said Dr. Karen Wiesman, associate superintendent of business and finance. “We strive to be economical and highly efficient with resources, and we’re honored to have received this award for another year. I am blessed to have such hardworking staff members.”
GFOA’s mission is to advance excellence in public finance. With more than 20,000 members, the organization represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada.
