Mansfield ISD earned the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded MISD with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. It is a distinction the district consistency receives.
The award was given for the district’s 2019 comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating financial transparency and clear communication.
GFOA’s mission is to advance excellence in public finance. With more than 20,000 members, the organization represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was established in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure.
