MISD Named CTE District of Distinction

The Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) has selected Mansfield ISD as a CTE District of Distinction. This honor celebrates districts across the state of Texas demonstrating exemplary leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success through high-quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

In 2023-24, of the 3,573 students enrolled in industry-based courses, 1,962 earned certifications that qualified them to graduate with the opportunity to move directly into the workforce. In addition, several of Mansfield ISD’s CTE programs recently advanced to national competitions in their including ProStart Culinary Arts, Skills USA, Business Professionals of America, Health Occupations Students of America, Texas Association of Future Educators, Distributive Education Clubs of America.

“We are so proud of the hard work our students are putting in to earn their industry-based certifications,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu. “Our CTE administrators and educators are enthusiastically leading the way by providing programs and instruction that align to industry needs while preparing our students to be college, career and life ready when they graduate.”

The CTE District of Distinction program was designed to celebrate outstanding career and technical education programs across Texas. Honored districts are selected based on their ability to meet rigorous criteria, including innovative programming, industry-based certifications, alignment with workforce needs, and exceptional student outcomes.
