The Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts has a great lineup of holiday events for the entire community to enjoy. Mark your calendars for the MISD Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Toys for Tots Drive, Hometown Holidays Dance Spectacular and The Nutcracker ballet.
All of the events will take place at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts, located at 1110 W. Debbie Lane in Mansfield.
Tree Lighting Ceremony on Nov. 18
Come light up the holidays in style with MISD's annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. The yearly event, created to usher in the upcoming holiday season, will feature holiday musical performances from the preschool students of the Academy for Early Learners concluded with the lighting of the tree.
The ceremony is open to the public and completely free for all attendees. Hot cocoa and cookies will also be served. You don't want to miss out on this festive affair full of holiday cheer.
Toys for Tots Drive and Holiday Event Set on Dec. 1
Join Mansfield ISD to ring in the holiday season and cheer on a decade of giving with our 10th annual Toys for Tots Drive on Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 5 to 10:30 p.m. The purpose of the event is to gather thousands of toys in partnership with schools, local business partners and other community organizations to help families in need.
Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to drop off. In addition to the toy collection, there will be attractions, live performances, music activities and food to enjoy for the entire family—all for free.
Dance Spectacular on Dec. 11
Be transported through a night of amazing music, dance and seasonal magic as the MISD Fine Arts department features all of its MISD drill teams.
Hometown Holidays Dance Spectacular will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11 starting at 7 p.m. General admission is $10. Students, staff, seniors and military admission tickets are $5. Don't miss out on a night of spectacular holiday dancing as our students showcase their amazing talents.
The Nutcracker Ballet on Dec. 18
MISD and the Art Ballet Academy are teaming for a magical trip to the land sugar plum fairies and enchanted toys with the return of the iconic holiday story, The Nutcracker.
Two performances will be held on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tchaikovsky's glorious score, dazzling costumes, giant growing Christmas tree and falling snow make The Nutcracker a can't miss production. Purchase your tickets here.
