MISD Community Approves Propositions A and B
Thank you to our Mansfield ISD community for supporting our students and staff by passing Bond 2024 propositions A and B! We appreciate the generational difference this will make in the lives of our students as we continue to make MISD a great place to live, learn and teach.
The projects funded by the $588.5 million dollars in bonds will allow MISD to:
- Equip and renovate our facilities—including HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, flooring, fire alarm systems, pavement, lighting, kitchen equipment and playground surfaces.
- Upgrade and replace equipment—including cameras, access points and fire sprinklers.
- Purchase additional weapons detection systems.
- Build a Safety Operations Center/MISD Police Station.
- Purchase replacement buses, renovate and construct bus shop and bays at the 6th Ave. bus facility, and renovate the Main St. bus facility.
- Renovate choir rooms at Howard, Wester and Worley Middle Schools.
- Add orchestra space at Coble, Howard, Jones, Jobe, Wester and Worley Middle Schools.
- Add space at Ben Barber Innovation Academy for new instructional and certification programs and convert classrooms to high-tech computer labs.
- Resurface and add lights to high school tennis courts, resurface middle school tracks, build covered batting cages at high schools, install turf at high school baseball and softball fields and renovate weight rooms and replace bleachers and scoreboards at middle school practice fields.
- Build a new Early Learners’ Academy designed to provide students with an interactive, engaging and highly visual learning experience.
- Purchase smart boards to replace outdated classroom projectors.
- Purchase digital signage for campus communications replacing current end-of-life equipment at all office/reception areas districtwide.
We look forward to updating you as projects are completed as specified in the bond and are grateful for your commitment to our students and staff in MISD.
