MISD Beats State and Regional Averages in All STAAR Tests

Mansfield ISD students exceeded state and regional score averages for every subject tested in the 2019 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) exam.

Outperforming state averages and the average score of surrounding districts is an accomplishment MISD students have consistently achieved.

For 2019, MISD exceeded the state's performance by 10 or more percentage points in 11 of the 22 tests taken. At the regional level, MISD students scored 10 or more percentage points higher in eight tests.

“The scores from these state tests are only one way Mansfield ISD measures student and school success, but we’re proud of these results. Our students and staff work very hard,” said Dr. Sean Scott, associate superintendent of curriculum, instruction and accountability. “We’ve seen strong growth in areas, and we’re confident in our continuous improvement process. That’s what makes MISD a destination district committed to excellence.”

STAAR is an assessment program designed to measure the extent to which students have learned and are able to apply the knowledge and skills defined in the state-mandated curriculum standards. A view of Mansfield ISD’s scores are below.
