Mansfield ISD Schools to Begin Fall with Virtual Learning on Aug. 12

After the latest news from Attorney General Ken Paxton, which stated that a local health authority may not issue sweeping school closure orders, Mansfield ISD has decided to move up the date for the start of in-person instruction. View the full letter from Superintendent Dr. Cantu here.

All Mansfield ISD students will start school on Wednesday, Aug. 12 as planned, but instruction will be given solely online until Sept. 8. (In-person instruction previously was going to start on Sept. 28.) Families that chose the MISD Virtual Learning Academy will continue learning online.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
All students will begin school on Wednesday, Aug. 12 remotely.

  • Families who registered for in-person learning will begin attending in-person classes at their campus on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
  • Families who registered for online learning through the MISD Virtual Learning Academy will continue receiving instruction online.

DEVICE DISTRIBUTION
(UPDATED Aug. 21, 2020) - All remaining device requests will be delivered directly to the school for parent pickup. Parents will be notified when the device is ready.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Until Sept. 8, all school-sponsored events and extracurricular activities, including athletics and fine arts, can only take place remotely or outdoors with face coverings and the appropriate social distancing. View the modified UIL schedule here.

NEXT STEPS
All parents need to register their new or returning student if they have not done so already. Campus principals will contact parents in the coming weeks to assess technology device and internet needs.

Mansfield ISD is committed to providing a world-class education no matter which mode of instruction families choose. More information about Fall Reopening 2020 is available here.
