Mansfield ISD was recognized for its excellence in school communications and marketing by earning five awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
MISD received a Golden Achievement Award for the district’s comprehensive communication plan for the Voter-Approved Tax Ratification Election (VATRE), or Penny Swap, that took place on Nov. 2. The Golden Achievement Award recognizes outstanding, strategic work in all aspects of school public relations, communication, marketing and engagement.
Along with the Golden Achievement Award, MISD earned four Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards. The award recognizes outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, digital media programs, radio/TV/video programs, social media, infographics, blogs and websites.
The district’s annual state of the district brochure, fall 2021 magazine and video about celebrating diversity won the Award of Excellence, which is the top award in their categories. MISD’s video highlighting how staff members help children with special needs transition into the real world won a merit award in its category.
“To be recognized at the national level is an amazing accomplishment, and it’s a testament to the hard work that the MISD communications and marketing team puts in day in and day out,” said Donald Williams, associate superintendent of communications and marketing. “We are blessed to be able to support our district in telling the MISD story in a multitude of ways and will strive to continue to do so at the highest level.”
NSPRA uses experienced, award-winning professionals to evaluate entries in its awards programs. The achievements will be recognized at the NSPRA 2022 National Seminar in Chicago, which will be held July 17-20. In addition, MISD will receive a plaque and certificate for earning top distinctions.
