Making the Grade: Mansfield ISD More than Doubles Number of A-Rated Schools in One Year

Today, the Texas Education Agency released its most recent accountability ratings for all public schools in Texas, and Mansfield ISD has a lot to brag about.

“I am so proud of our staff and students whose tremendous hard work resulted in dramatic results districtwide,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu. “I’m delighted to inform our community that 20 MISD campuses earned an overall rating of A, up from nine the previous year. In addition, a majority of our schools either showed improvement or maintained their past impressive performance. We still have work to do in some areas, but through intentional, targeted improvement plans, we are committed to achieving excellence at every campus. We’re ALL IN.”

The district maintained its overall rating of a B while demonstrating substantial growth at the campus level. MISD’s overall district score went up two points from last year and five points since 2023. Two points of pride include the fact that seven of our eight high schools earned As, and 26 of our campuses improved by a letter grade or maintained their A from the previous year.

While this district is proud of its performance on the state’s A-F rating system, MISD embraces accountability throughout all of its operations. MISD knows the A-F system doesn’t tell the whole story, like the individual accomplishments our students achieve each and every day.

“In addition to our public-facing district scorecard, all MISD departments and campuses set measurable goals and track their progress monthly to ensure we are all working toward our ultimate vision of graduating students who are college, career, and life ready,” said Cantu.
