MISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month
Locally Elected, Community Connected. School Board Recognition Month is January 2024

Each January, Mansfield ISD celebrates National School Board Recognition Month and recognizes the enormous contribution trustees make to the district’s students and staff with their leadership.

The theme this year is ‘Locally Elected, Community Connected’ which highlights the connection between school trustees and their communities.

Board members are elected to establish the policies that support the district’s mission and vision. They oversee the management of the school district and ensure financial accountability. With every decision, the school board keeps MISD’s mission, vision and strategic plan in mind – ensuring students are life ready, career ready and college ready by the time they graduate.

“Our district is fortunate to have this dedicated group of individuals whose passion is serving and supporting our students and staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu. “I want to thank them for the time and effort they invest in making Mansfield ISD a destination district that inspires and educates students to be productive citizens.”

MISD campuses host events throughout the month to honor school board members, and trustees will be celebrated at the board meeting on January 23. Members of the community are encouraged to use this time to say thank you to MISD board members for their contributions to our district and community.
