January is School Board Recognition Month, and Mansfield ISD is celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and its students.
The theme this year is ‘Forward, Together’ which highlights the collaboration among school leadership, teachers and parents on behalf of students.
Board members are elected to establish the policies that support the district’s mission and vision. They oversee the management of the school district and ensure financial accountability. With every decision, the school board keeps MISD’s mission, vision and strategic plan in mind – ensuring students are life ready, career ready and college ready by the time they graduate.
“I am grateful to work alongside these amazing advocates for our students and staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu. “They volunteer their time and are passionate about making sure our students get the best education and our staff have a great place to work. During this month and throughout the entire year, I want to thank our board members and hope they know how much we appreciate them.”
Seven MISD campuses will adopt school board members and host an event in their honor during the month. Trustees will also be celebrated with artwork created by students and other recognitions at the school board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 24. Members of the community are encouraged to use this time to say thank you to MISD board members for their contributions to our district and community.
