The filing period is now open for those interested in running in the upcoming school board election. Election Day is Saturday, May 1.

Three seats on the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees will be on the ballot—Place 1, Place 2 and Place 4.

Place 1 and Place 2 are up for re-election. They are both three-year terms. Place 4 is an open seat that was left vacant when former Trustee Raul Gonzalez retired, which expires in May 2022.

School board members are locally elected representatives of the public and serve as the community’s advocate for public education. They must maintain a focus on student achievement and well-being while making decisions that represent the interests of its constituents.
