UPDATED: Feb. 2, 2023 | 4:00 p.m.

Due to the continued hazardous travel conditions and for the safety of our students and staff, all Mansfield ISD schools and buildings will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3.

After-school activities are also canceled on Friday, Feb. 3. However, all previously scheduled evening athletic and fine arts events and competitions will continue as scheduled.

While conditions have improved today, the continued precipitation and below freezing temperatures remain a concern for treacherous travel conditions particularly for those who need to travel on less traveled roads that remain unsafe, as well as for our student drivers and our students who walk to school.

The forecasted temperatures and continued precipitation also pose a significant safety concern for icy district parking lots and sidewalks. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation throughout this challenging week.

District schools and offices will reopen with a normal schedule on Monday, Feb. 6. Please stay safe and travel with caution.

MISD administration will be monitoring conditions in order to make a decision regarding Friday, Feb. 3.

We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation. Stay safe and warm.
