BPA Student Wins First Place in Nationals 

Update on May 1: Frontier STEM Academy tenth-grader Kaden Nguyen won first place in Fundamentals of Web Design at the Business Professionals of America nationals competition held April 26-30 in Anaheim, California.

Additionally, eleventh-grader Isaiah Gomez of Frontier STEM Academy finished top 10 in the Microsoft Server Administration category at nationals.  

Business Professionals of America (BPA) prepares students to be global professionals through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills. Teacher Deon Martinez is the advisor for Ben Barber Innovation Academy's BPA team. 

 


More than a dozen Mansfield ISD high school students competed at the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference last week.

Three Mansfield ISD high school students will be advancing to the national business competition after bringing home gold and silver medals at the state level.

The Ben Barber Innovation Academy and Timberview High School students are part of Business Professionals of America (BPA), which prepares students to be global professionals through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills.

Each year, BPA members from several school districts come together to compete in regional competitions that are focused on career and technology education. The top winners advance to state and then nationals.

Congratulations to the MISD students who medaled at the BPA State Leadership Conference March 2-5 and will head to the national competition:

  • Salem Iranloye, Lake Ridge High School, 12th Grade (Python Programming, 5th place)
     
  • Kaden Nguyen, Frontier STEM Academy, 10th Grade (Fundamentals of Web Design, 4th place)

The BPA national competition will be held April 26-30 in Anaheim, California, where they will compete with thousands of other business professionals from across the country.

In addition to the students’ achievements, Dr. Ketra Davenport-King, business teacher and Timberview High School’s BPA advisor, was presented with the Area I Outstanding Advisor Award.
