Back to School Bash Marks 10 Years of Giving Back

Thanks to everyone who partnered with Mansfield ISD to make the 10th Annual Back to School Bash a success. Students and their families gathered at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts to enjoy themselves and to receive the school supplies and services they need before the start of school.

Community and business partners helped the district raise more than $100,000 to pay for brand new shoes, backpacks and school supplies. Students also received free sports physicals, dental and eye exams, immunizations and haircuts.

“We just want to say thank you to our MISD community for making Back to School Bash possible,” said Superintendent Dr. Kimberley Cantu. “We rely on them each year to help us provide for our students and their families, and we are grateful for their support.”

The Bash is a great time for students to connect with principals and teachers before the first day. Campuses and community partners brought fun activities to break the ice. Students enjoyed bounce houses, a dunk tank, free food samples along with other games and prizes.
