The elegant evening brought a touch of Parisian charm, with attendees dressed in chic attire inspired by the City of Light. The event recognized the dedication and excellence of staff across the district, creating a memorable night filled with celebration, appreciation, and a bit of European flair. District Teachers of the Year
Elementary Teacher of the Year - Courtney Saxton (Nancy Neal)
Courtney Saxton is an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher at Nancy Neal Elementary, recognized for her compassion, expertise, and dedication to young learners with diverse needs. A graduate of Tarleton State University and the University of North Texas, she earned both degrees with a 4.0 GPA. A two-time MISD Education Foundation Grant recipient, she brings innovative learning opportunities to her classroom. Saxton is also an active community volunteer whose service reflects her deep commitment to supporting children and creating inclusive, joyful learning environments.
Secondary Teacher of the Year - Mariane Taylor (Jerry Knight STEM Academy)
Mariane Taylor brings 19 years of teaching experience and currently teaches eighth‑grade advanced biology and forensics at Jerry Knight STEM Academy. She holds a master’s degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington and is nationally certified in STEM education. A passionate curriculum developer, Taylor serves as campus GT specialist and science fair sponsor while remaining deeply committed to inquiry‑based, student‑centered learning. Her dedication, resilience, and passion for science education continue to inspire student curiosity, achievement, and success.

Ambassador of Education
Mansfield ISD proudly recognizes Sherri Jones, a dedicated community member whose commitment to service has made a lasting impact across the district. She actively supports Title I campuses through PTA involvement, mentors students through the Partners in Education program, and volunteers regularly on multiple campuses. Sherri also funded the AVID program at T.A. Howard Middle School, helping provide college visit opportunities for students.
Her service extends throughout the Mansfield community, including work with Common Ground Mansfield, Feed the Kids, and Mansfield Cares. Sherri’s generosity and dedication to students exemplify true advocacy, earning her the Mansfield ISD Ambassador of Education Award.
