Student-Athletes Win Big at State Track & Field Meet

There were plenty of gold, silver and bronze medals given to student-athletes from Mansfield ISD after the state track and field meet.

The meet featured the best track and field high schoolers in Texas.

Lake Ridge High School’s girls are the 5A state champions, and the Legacy High School boys team won second place overall in the 5A conference.

The following individual medals were also awarded:

Gold Medals

  • Ife Adeyi, Legacy High School - 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay
  • Michael Chin, Legacy High School - 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay
  • Faith Ette, Lake Ridge High School - Shot put
  • Ariel Ford, Lake Ridge High School - 4x200 relay
  • Demauryon Holmes, Legacy High School - 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay
  • Jill Johnson, Mansfield High School - High jump
  • Jasmine Moore, Lake Ridge High School - Long jump, Triple jump and 4x200 relay
  • Kelly Rowe, Lake Ridge High School - 4x200 relay
  • Jais Smith, Legacy High School - 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay
  • Nyana Wright, Lake Ridge High School - 4x200 relay

Silver Medals

The 2018 UIL State Track & Field Meet took place May 11-12 at The University of Texas at Austin’s Mike A. Myers Stadium.
