Luttrell is a member of many community boards. She also serves on the Common Ground Network, an organization committed to helping Mansfield ISD students and families through its food pantry and school supply distributions.

Those who know Luttrell said when there is a need, she is always there to help with a servant’s heart.

“One of the things I love most about Susan is that no matter where you go, there she is, it seems,” said MISD Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas. “If there’s a service opportunity anywhere in our district, she's there. I just don’t know of a person more deserving than her.”

The award was presented to Luttrell at the 2018 MISD Employee Recognition Banquet on May 17.
