Our transition to direct district management means your previous employer was a third-party company. We need current employment records and payroll details in our internal system. A new application ensures we have your updated information legally and securely on file.

Yes. To ensure fairness and compliance with district policies, all applicants must complete the standard screening process. This also gives our district team a chance to meet you directly and welcome you back to the team.

Fast Track is our automated scheduling tool. If your application is selected, the system will email you a direct link. You can use that link to choose a virtual interview date and time that fits your schedule perfectly.

Your ESS badge is no longer valid, and you can return to the MISD police department. You will be eligible to receive a new MISD Sub badge once you are hired.

All retirees must observe a one full, calendar-month break in service after their effective retirement date to avoid revoking their retirement. Returning to work for a TRS-covered employer in the month directly following your effective retirement date will revoke your retirement. Ex. If you retired May 26, you would not work in a TRS entity the entire month of June and could be eligible to apply as a substitute on July 1st.

Mansfield ISD offers health coverage to eligible substitutes through TRS-ActiveCare. A substitute is eligible to enroll if the district reasonably expects them to work at least 10 hours per week. Please note that hours worked for other school districts are not considered when determining eligibility through Mansfield ISD. Substitutes who enroll in coverage are responsible for paying the full premium cost.

• New substitutes must enroll in or decline medical coverage within 31 days from their date of hire. Returning substitutes have the opportunity to enroll during the annual Open Enrollment period. If coverage is declined, substitutes will not be eligible to enroll again until the next plan year unless they experience a qualifying special enrollment event.
• If you choose to enroll in TRS-ActiveCare, you must submit payment along with your enrollment form. After the initial payment, premiums are due on the first day of each month (for example, the April premium is due by April 1). If payment is not received by the 10th of the month, the district will initiate the coverage cancellation process. Unless you elect to cancel your health insurance, you may continue coverage during the summer months of June through August, provided that all premiums are paid on time and you remain eligible. Coverage may also be cancelled if you are removed from the district’s substitute roster.

The Mansfield ISD Substitute Office can only verify dates worked. If you require payroll information, send a faxed request and release to the MISD Payroll Department at 817-548-2155.

We need a release signed by the previous/current employee. The employee or institution must provide the signed permission and verification documents to our department in one of the following ways:

Employment verifications are typically processed within five business days. Please note, we do not process requests during holidays and when district offices are closed.
