Transfers

Student Transfer Requests

Regular Student Transfer Requests for 2025-2026 School Year:

  • Start Date for Applications: February 1
  • Deadline for Submissions: April 1
  • Application Process: Transfer requests must be submitted via the online Transfer Application Link found under "Transfers" on the MISD website.
  • All transfers are reviewed in the order received.
Important Information:
  • Out-of-District Transfers: Per Board Policy FDA (LOCAL), MISD does not accept out-of-district transfers. Students must live within the district to attend.
  • Transportation: Not provided for intra-district transfers.
  • One Transfer Per Year: You can only submit one transfer request per school year.
  • Reapplication Not Required: If the child is already on an approved transfer AND continues at the same campus, no new application is needed.
  • Verification and Approval: You will receive email verification of approval or denial by the end of summer.
  • If approved, take the approval form to the campus during enrollment, schedule pick-up, etc. for the next school year.
Pre-K Students:
  • Pre-K students must meet eligibility requirements at their home campus before requesting a transfer.
  • Transfer Requests: Parents wishing to transfer a Pre-K student to another campus should contact AlycenPhan@MISDmail.org for assistance.
  • Tuition-based Pre-K students: Do not require a transfer request if remaining at their home campus.

Student Transfer Application

Children of District Employee Transfer Option:

Eligibility for Full-time Employees:

  • Employees can request a transfer for their children to the campus/zone in which they work if space is available.
  • Application Link is general for ALL transfers (see above for link).
  • Reapplication Not Required: If the employee's child is already on an approved transfer and continues at the same campus, no new application is needed.
  • For Changes in Grade: If the child is changing campuses (e.g., moving to 5th, 7th, or 9th grade), a new application is necessary.
  • All transfers are reviewed in the order received.
  • Employee children transfers are for the children of employees (grandchildren, nieces/nephews, and other relations are not considered per policy FDA (LOCAL).
  • Transportation is not provided.

For Out-of-District Employees:

  • County District 220-908 Form must be submitted along with the transfer application if the employee resides outside of MISD.
  • Employees will be directed to this form through the online transfer application.
  • Deadline for Employee Requests: April 1 (New Employees or reassigned employees during the school year must submit an application within 30 days of a new campus assignment.)

ATTENTION!

ALL transfer requests are reviewed in the order they are received. It's important to submit your transfer application as early as possible, as delays in submitting your request may result in your requested campus reaching capacity before your application is reviewed.
