Our Programs
Mansfield ISD is partnering with Fort Worth ISD and Tarrant County Adult Education Divisions to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) and High School Equivalency (GED) classes for interested adults.
Classes will be available online and in-person throughout the school year. They are completely free to the community and will be held in various locations throughout Tarrant County.
The enrollment process is simple to complete:
- Click the link or use the QR link below to open a Google form to open a new student questionnaire.
- Answer the questions in the new student questionnaire form and select the date to attend a registration session.
- Attend your registration session. You will be notified about the location and time. It's important to be on time or you may have to reschedule for another date and location.
- Complete the registration paperwork and DocuSign at your registration session. Technology to do so will be provided at your session.
- Complete your online pre-assessments during the registration session so you can be assigned to a class that best fits your situation.
After you have completed each of the above steps, you will be assigned to a class and given your schedule. It may take 1-2 weeks before you receive your class assignment, while certain specialty classes such as CDL may not start until they are full.
Call 817-402-7555 if you have any questions about this process.

Bilingual Education Program
- The Texas Education Code requires that school districts offer a bilingual education program at PK-6 for any language with 20 students or more enrolled at any grade level across the district.
- Mansfield ISD participating schools:
- Texas law requires the teaching of both the student’s native language and English. The state of Texas provides student textbooks in English and Spanish for Spanish-speaking students in a bilingual education program.
- MISD offers a one-way and two-way dual language bilingual education program.
- The two-way is based on a 90/10 model for kindergarten and first grade, in which 90% of the instruction is delivered in Spanish, and 10% of the instruction is in English.
- The two-way model in second through sixth grade is 50/50, in which 50% of the instruction is in Spanish and the other 50% in English.
- The two-way model includes native Spanish and English speakers becoming bilingual, bicultural, and bi-literate by learning content instruction in both languages.
- The one-way model includes only native Spanish speakers and follows the same 90/10 and 50/50 instructional models.
- The two-way is based on a 90/10 model for kindergarten and first grade, in which 90% of the instruction is delivered in Spanish, and 10% of the instruction is in English.
ESL (English as a Second Language) Program
-
Texas law requires that students, who do not receive a bilingual education program, receive an ESL (English as a Second Language) program.
-
Students in grades PK-12 whose native language is not Spanish receive instruction through an ESL program, which does not include native-language instruction. The ESL program is offered at every campus in Mansfield ISD.
