Safety and Security

The safety and well-being of our students and staff members is the district's top priority.
We hold true to this statement through the measures fostered by the Safety and Security Department. Our goal is to provide a culture of safety, security and emergency preparedness into our school framework that is both proactive and progressive.

The department works in partnership with the MISD Police and school officers at each campus and oversees functions related to safety, security and threat assessment for the entire school district.

Duties include the development, implementation and maintenance of the district’s emergency management protocols, security systems, fire alarms and fire safety systems as well as the district’s behavioral threat assessment and management program.
