At Mansfield ISD, our Government Affairs department exists to educate, engage, and empower our stakeholders to champion public education through meaningful participation in the legislative process. We believe that when our community understands and influences policy, we can better serve every student. 

How We Live Out Our Mission

Engage with the Mansfield ISD Community
The Mansfield ISD Legislative Leadership Committee brings together more than 100 passionate educators, parents, students, and community leaders from across the district. This diverse team helps shape our legislative priorities, adopted by the Board of Trustees, and stays informed throughout the legislative session. Committee members learn how the Texas Legislature operates, receive regular updates on proposed bills, hear directly from elected officials, and provide important feedback to guide our advocacy work. 

Partnering for a Stronger Voice
Mansfield ISD is proud to collaborate with over 250 school districts and education partners across Texas. We’ve built a strong regional network—including more than 60 districts in Regions 10 and 11—to exchange insights and analyze proposed legislation together. By working in unity, we can better understand how policy decisions affect schools not only in Mansfield but throughout the state

Building Relationships with Lawmakers
Mansfield ISD serves as a trusted voice for students, educators, and families at the Capitol. We strive to be a resource to lawmakers, offering data, real-world insight, and thoughtful solutions to ensure legislation supports student success. Our advocacy is grounded in collaboration, civility, and a deep commitment to keeping the focus on what matters most—our kids.
