Journalism

MISD students are introduced to the historical importance of journalism, while studying the basic principles of online and print journalism. 

They will examine the role of printed news media and learn the investigative skills, responsible reporting and journalist writing techniques. By the end of the course, students will be able to read, respond to and write their own news and feature articles. 

Students may also join yearbook production to develop skills and experience in selected aspects of yearbook. Students learn basic principles of yearbook such as writing copy, captions and headlines, digital photography, desktop publishing and using appropriate technology tools for media production.
