Our Schools

Art

In Mansfield ISD, we are dedicated to include quality visual arts programming. Students at all levels participate in a variety of studio experiences within the classroom using developmentally appropriate materials. Curricular content is relevant, engaging and appropriate, following the Art TEKS. Aesthetic and cultural connections are enriched with community partnerships. Extracurricular activity expectations include Jr. VASE and VASE.

Intermediate Schools
The Intermediate Art program builds upon the elementary foundation by expanding each student's knowledge, skills, expressive qualities and creativity. The intermediate level also introduces the students to direct observation drawing, expressive painting, multi-media works, photography, and computer artwork. All students are given the opportunity to participate in the annual district-wide art competition and show.

Middle Schools
The Middle School Art program provides a broad range of unifying activities. Students increasingly rely on the perceptions of their environment and increase the visual awareness of their surroundings, memory, imagination, and life experiences which provide inspiration for creating original artworks. By challenging their imaginations with new techniques and materials, the students refine their skills by expressing their thoughts and ideas creatively. All students are given the opportunity to participate in the annual district-wide art competition and show.
