The Cheer/Mascot Constitution
The middle school cheer program, governed by the district's cheer and mascot constitution, begins with a series of orientation meetings followed by the submission of required documentation at the district and campus level by noted deadlines. Review the Mansfield ISD cheer/mascot constitution.
Parent Meetings / Clinics & Tryouts
Parent Meetings
Parent informational meetings are held annually to discuss major aspects of the cheer program. While attendance at these meetings is not required, it is strongly encouraged as meetings also cover the application and tryout process and address common questions about the program.
Jan. 10, 2024 at 6 and 7 p.m. at the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing ArtsClinics and Tryouts
Clinics are held annually in the spring to prepare and teach interested candidates aspects of the cheerleading program in preparation for tryouts.
Cheer clinics will be held Feb. 27 - March 1, 2024. Tryouts will be held at Lake Ridge and Legacy high schools on March 2.
The Application Process
Applications can only be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. Students are not allowed to submit the district-level application.

Cheer/Mascot Resources
In an effort to create more transparency in the clinic and tryout process, middle school parents and students will have access to cheerleading score sheet used during tryouts to see how participants are scored.
Sports Physicals
In order to participate participate in cheer and/or drill team within Mansfield ISD, all students must have a physical exam, submit medical history and complete required electronic forms prior to participating in an athletic class, practice or event.
