The Drill Team Constitution

The drill team program, governed by the district's drill team constitution, begins with a series of orientation meetings followed by the submission of required documentation at the district and campus level by noted deadlines. Review the Mansfield ISD drill team constitution.

Parent Orientations

Parent informational meetings are held annually to discuss major aspects of the drill team program. While attendance at these meetings is not required, parents should note that the meetings also cover the application and tryout process as well as address common questions about the program.

Informational meetings for 2021-22 high school drill team tryouts were conducted online through informational videos and electronic documents.

The Application Process

The application process includes the submission of both district and campus required documents. Specific deadlines apply to each component of the application process.

District-Level Document Submissions
The drill team application can only be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. Students are not allowed to submit the district-level application.

Applications can be submitted online, mailed to MISD Fine Arts (1120 W. Debbie Lane, Mansfield, TX 76063) or emailed to finearts@misdmail.org.

The deadline to submit high school drill team application ended on Friday, March 12.

Campus-Level Document Submissions
Each drill team program has specific requirements for the tryout process. While the requirements for each program are generally the same, the documents required by programs may vary.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the varsity drill team director indicated in the packet. The best source of information about the specifics of a particular program is the current director, and parents are strongly encouraged to rely upon them instead of information from any other source.

Required documents at the campus level must be submitted by the noted deadlines within each checklist.

Please refer to the checklist for required documents and their associated deadlines for each individual high school drill team program.

Clinics & Tryouts Schedules

Clinics will take place in April at the student's campus. Tryouts will also be held in April at Vernon Newsom Stadium and R.L. Anderson Stadium. During clinics and tryouts, COVID-19 safety protocols will be adhered to.
