Risk Management

Doctor examining patient's shoulder injury

The district, in accordance with state law, provides workers’ compensation benefits to employees who suffer a work-related illness or are injured on the job.
The district is partially self-funded through Claims Administrative Services. Workers comp benefits pay for medical treatment and make up for part of the income lost while recovering.

All work-related accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to the employee’s supervisor and campus nurse. In addition, an incident form must be completed.

Employees who are unable to work due to a work-related injury must contact the Risk Management immediately and will be notified of their rights and responsibilities under the Texas Labor Code.
