Our Schools

Mathematics

Our mission statement is to inspire and educate students to be creative, innovative, and confident mathematical thinkers.

Mathematics is the study of patterns and relationships. Mathematicians notice patterns, describe patterns, and generalize patterns. We believe that all individuals can be mathematicians. This is the fundamental belief that guides our decision making, the development of curriculum, and the support of instructional best practices.

Mathematics in grades K-8 focuses on the big ideas of

  • Numerical Representations and Relationships
  • Computations and Algebraic Relationships
  • Geometry and Measurement
  • Data Analysis and Personal Financial Literacy.

The Mathematical Process Standards are integrated as a way for students to engage in the content and to develop students to be successful problem solvers and to use mathematics efficiently and effectively in daily life.

High School coursework provides opportunities to study the foundations of functions at various levels- including Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebraic Reasoning, Geometry, Precalculus, Advanced Quantitative Reasoning, and Statistics. Advanced Placement courses include AP Statistics, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus.
