Our Schools

Expectations of a GT Student

Students who participate in services designed for gifted students will demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research and communication as evidenced by the development of innovative products and performances that reflect individuality and creativity and are advanced in relation to students of similar age, experience or environment. High school graduates who have participated fully in services for gifted students will have the opportunity to produce products and performances of professional quality as part of their program services.

Program Guidelines

MISD strives to uphold the state’s goal for GT students is to ensure that those students who participate in GT services demonstrate skills in self-directed learning, thinking, research and communication. Additionally, it is the goal of Mansfield ISD’s Advanced Academics Department to provide educational opportunities so that each student has the prospect of reaching his or her maximum potential culminating in college readiness.
