Event Photography/Video Policy

All professional photographers requesting sideline access during a sporting event (including sub-varsity & middle school athletic events) must complete  the following process one week prior to requested game to access:

1. Contact April Burke at AprilBurke@misdmail.org
2. Complete a background check
   • Upon background check approval, pay any applicable fees (see "Access Fees" below)
3. Complete a Game Day Photographer application

Please allow 2-3 working days to process your registration. Upon clearance from the background check, you will receive an email from the MISD Athletic Department about your status.

NOTE: Registration is only for professional photographers who are not employed by a media outlet such as a newspaper or established website. Parent volunteers will need to obtain football credentials through the appropriate group (Campus Head Football Coach, Band Director, Drill Team Director).

Access Fees

Varsity Football Access Fees
The Mansfield ISD Athletic Department charges $150 for single game access and $500 for season access to our venues (MISD Vernon Newsom Stadium and R.L. Anderson Stadium).

This fee must be paid once the background check clears and before you can have access to our venues. Payments can be made in person at the MISD Athletic Office (3700 East Broad St. Mansfield, TX 76063).

Other Varsity Sports and Sub-Varsity Football Access Fees
The Mansfield ISD Athletic Department does not charge a fee for access to other varsity sports and sub-varsity football games. However, non-media photographers must still complete an application, pass a background check, and have an ID created in order to gain access to our venues.

Sideline Etiquette

NOTE: Flagrant violators of sideline etiquette will be removed from the field.

• Stay behind the line or a minimum of three feet away from the playing field or court.
• Stay out of referee's paths.
• Do not enter the team boxes. This is generally the areas between the 25 or 30 yard lines. It is clearly marked with box lines.
• Do not interact with the student athletes or any other students on the sideline.
• Never use a tripod while working the sidelines. Monopods are recommended for large lenses.
• Be aware of cables from video/TV cameras, especially the sideline remote videographers.
• Never stand directly behind a kneeling or standing photographer. If he/she has to move suddenly to avoid getting hit by players, you will impair their movement.
• Be courteous and polite.
