Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts

Mansfield ISD will be celebrating all things fall and fun with a free outdoor community carnival for all ages on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts.

The festival will kick off with a parade followed by family fun activities and a special guest appearance by the Mansfield Fire Department. Don’t miss this celebration of the changing seasons that the entire community can enjoy.

Early voting ends today, Oct. 29. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Mansfield ISD residents will see a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) proposition, or Penny Swap, on the ballot. With voter approval, the Penny Swap would bring approximately $24.7 million in additional revenue to the district each year with no change to the current tax rate.

Colors for Caring Mondays

Mansfield ISD is encouraging the community to wear a color that represents a cancer that affected the life of a loved one during Colors for Caring Mondays. View a cancer color chart here.

The Colors for Caring days for 2021-22 are:

  • Monday, September 13
  • Monday, October 4
  • Monday, November 1
  • Monday, December 6
  • Monday, January 10
  • Monday, February 7
  • Monday, March 7
  • Monday, April 4
  • Monday, May 2

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 2. A Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE), or Penny Swap, will be part of the ballot.

With voter approval, the Penny Swap would restructure the MISD tax rate, swapping 13 pennies from the Interest and Sinking (I&S) tax rate to the Maintenance and Operations (M&O) tax rate bringing approximately $24.7 million in additional revenue to the district each year with no change in the current total tax rate.
