Resources for TAKS Improvement

Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) by subject areas:

Select the subject area for a list of the specific skills that are being taught in the classroom. These items must be covered by all teachers in each subject area, and these are the items that are tested on the TAKS.

Texas Education Agency – Assessment Website:

Go to the Students/Parents link for information that explains tests, provides past assessments and scoring guides as well as other information concerning the makeup of tests and how grading will occur. The content bar on the left of this page also provides for many other areas of interest so that anyone may become more familiar with the makeup of the tests as well as the frequently asked questions, testing calendar and resources for students and parents.

Online TAKS Tutoring through Track

This site is independent from the Texas Education Agency, but works closely by presenting aligned materials and practice assessments in TAKS format. Going to this site requires a setup and then the student may utilize free online testing opportunities.
