Welcome to Art One

This is a 1 credit full year course that covers the basics of art perception, expression, history, and evaluation. During the year we hope to cover and touch on subjects such as Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Fibers and photography.

ASSIGNMENTS - WEEK 1-6

We start off the year laying down the ground work for the entire year. We will then refer back often to Elements and Principles of Art

Then we started using our Elements and principles to create art Works. We use a creative problem solving style, I give them a set of requirements and they solve the problem to the best of their ability using the requirements and their own personal preferences and experiences.

Masks are actually being built out of clay during the week of 12/8 -12/12. Clay will only be available to students during that week, if students are absent or assigned to AC they will need come in for tutoring time after school during the week. we will be finishing (paintig, etc..) the masks after winter break.

All major work (value of 100+ points) must be turned into me the first time or for regrades on or before the 9th of January.
Small projects - sketchbooks - extra credit(see options at bottom of site) can be turned in up until I hand out the exams for your class. Once the exams have been handed out absolutly no work can be excepted.
Remeber that the exam is an open note exam. All notes in your own hand writing that are bound together in your art folder/notebook or in your sketchbook can be used on the exam.
Please come prepared!!!!!

Extra Credit
