Attention Seniors - It's not too late to come by and pick up your Senior TAKS exemption forms. Remember that these need to be signed by a parent if you are under 18 years of age. Senior TAKS exemption forms are not to be returned to the AP offices. You must submit these directly to your teacher on Monday or Wednesday of next week. Don't lose your forms! If you lose your forms, you lose your exemptions. Keep them in a safe place over the weekend.
Also, we have at least 70 seniors who are in danger of not graduating due to excessive absences. Please check with each of your teachers. If you have 5 or more absences to a class, you are in danger of not graduating due to absences. Make plans to be here on Saturday to complete 4 hours of Attendance School to clear your absence fails.
Finally, we have 40 seniors who have fines that have not been paid. Each of you should have received notification from our bookkeeper regarding the nature and amount of your fine. Check the fees tab of your Infinite Campus account to find out if you owe a fine. You will not be allowed to walk the stage at graduation if you have not paid your fines.
The cheerleaders are having a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s in Mansfield on Saturday, June 6th. Buy your ticket in advance from any cheerleader.

Congratulations to Anthony Sanguinetti who placed 11th in the Bull Riding Competition at the North Texas High School Rodeo. Anthony has qualified to ride in the Rodeo Finals and will be riding Thursday and Friday of this week at the Cowtown Coliseum located at the Fort Worth Stockyards. Come out and support your Summit bull rider. The rodeo begins at 7:00 both nights.
The Sapphires are having a Garage Sale this Saturday May 30th from 8 am - 1 pm in front of the PAC. If you or any one you know are interested stop by on Saturday, you never know, you might find a treasure.
Don't forget, students, that all library books are due, and that the library will be closed for inventory beginning tomorrow.

Any baseball player that wishes to purchase tickets to the banquet scheduled for this Thursday May 28th, please see coach Thomason or Coach Harden ASAP. All players will receive one free ticket, but must purchase additional tickets for family or friends. Tickets are $11.00.
Yearbook distribution will begin after school today. Come to room J-9 with your id to pick up your copy. Books will not be handed out during school hours. If you did not order a yearbook, there are a few extras. Bring $80 cash or money order to the yearbook room to get a copy. Extra books will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis only. See Mrs. Schultz in room J-9 with questions.

The yearbook staff is having a party during fourth block on Friday, and everyone is invited. Pay $1 to your fourth block teacher to get out of class 45 minutes early, and bring your ticket to the cafeteria to pick up your book and join in the signing party. Books will only be given out to those with tickets to the signing party that day. Regular distribution begins on Tuesday, May 26. Didn't buy a book? Get a ticket so you sign your friends'. Have senior release? You'll still need a ticket. Check with Mrs. Schultz in room J9 if you have any questions.

Seniors -- Are you ready to show us your moves? Prom is only a few short days away! Please remember prom begins at 8pm and you must have your assigned tickets and an ID in order to get in. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately and come ready to have an amazing time! I know that many of you will take limos to prom but if you do drive your own car, parking at the hotel is $15.00. Thanks to all of you who purchased tickets and we can't wait to see you for A Night in Paris!

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Keyon Stokes was unable to attend the Dozie Scholarship pep rally but donated money. Way to show the Summit love! Keep those acts of kindness coming.

Operation Boots will be creating 15 care boxes for troops in Iraq. The platoon that Summit is supporting is about half way through their deployment, and the dangers have not ceased in and around Sadr City. Many times soldiers are forgotten during this time period, which can be the most difficult. Also, summer is coming and the temperature can reach 130. Please bring items such as drink mix in small packets, socks, snacks, etc. Please see any teacher for additional list and give them to any teacher or bring them to room A5. We will be collecting item all week. Support Our Troops with the Summit Love.

The Lady Jags softball team finished their season last night! The Lady Jags had an outstanding season and finished 21-8. Not only did the softball team have an amazing season, they finished District Champs, Bi-District Champs, Area Champs, and Regional Quarter-Finalist!
The softball team would like to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to all of the fans who attended our games this season especially in the play-offs! All of their support and cheers were AWESOME and definitely made others envy our Jaguar Pride.

The cheerleaders are having a fundraiser at Applebees in Mansfield on Thursday, May 21. The cheerleaders will receive 15% of all dine in and take out orders that day. Help support your cheerleaders and eat at Applebees!
German Classes and Club will meet in room F-4 today at 2:30 to coordinate transportation for bowling activity.
The Summit Drill Teams will be having their Spring Show this Friday May 15th in the PAC. The show begins at 7:00 pm, tickets are limited. They will be sold at the door on a first come first serve basis. $3 for adults, $2 for students w/ ID and children 6 and under. MISD employees get in FREE w/ ID. Come out and enjoy the show!

Seniors -- This is a last call for all pictures to be put in the senior slide show at prom. All pictures must be of seniors and must contain more than one person -- they can be from any time! If you have pictures you would like to submit, please bring them to Ms. Gilmore in room I 2. They need to be in a labeled envelope or on a labeled disc. All pictures submitted before the senior dinner and pictures submitted this week and last week will be returned the week after prom.
The MISD PSAT/ACT/SAT Summer Institute will be held during two sessions this summer. This institute is designed to effectively increase your scores on college admission exams. Students who have attended this institute in the past have seen dramatic improvement in their scores.
Detailed information regarding this Summer Institute can be found in the counseling center and on our Summit website. The first 24 students to register will receive a 50% discount on the registration fee. Hurry! Only the first 24 students will receive the reduced rate!
We are having an informational meeting about a summer camp in South Korea and a three day visit to Tokyo, Japan from July 27-August 10 in room A111 this Friday at Ben Barber Career Tech Academy. Mr. Geer and the foreign exchange student program United Students Association (U.S.A.) are taking up to 30 students from the MISD area who are interested in seeing the world. This opportunity is for high school students only. The purpose is to learn about South Korean culture and exchange educational ideas with students from around the world. The meeting will be held in room A111 this Friday from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm to discuss itinerary, fees, and other travel information. Any student who is interested can attend, and parents are encouraged to attend as well. See you there!

The Summit Band is having a fundraiser at Bruster's Ice Cream on Cooper this Thursday from 7:00-9:00pm. A portion of the proceeds earned that evening will directly benefit the students of our band. Come out and support the band by enjoying some of your favorite ice cream desserts.

Don't miss out on your opportunity to celebrate your senior year with all of your friends.

Last weekend the Lady Jaguar Softball team beat Haltom to become Bi-District Champions!! The Softball team will be back in action Friday night as they compete in the area round facing Midland Lee at 7pm at Brownwood High School!
