Which Elementary schools will the new zones affect?
The following campuses will be affected by rezoning:
- Brockett Elementary
- Cabaniss Elementary
- Daulton Elementary
- Jones Elementary
Note: Since these are the only campuses that are affected, they are the only ones pictured in the map options.
Will there be a 4th grade option?
Yes, 2008-09 4th grade students (this year's 3rd graders) will have the option to remain at their current campus.
How were members of the Elementary School Attendance Zone Committee selected?
Committee members were selected to represent each affected elementary attendance zone.
What is the role of the Attendance Zone Committee?
The Attendance Zone Committee is an advisory group that seeks community input. The Committee will provide community feedback on all three attendance zone options.
Who will recommend the final map option to be considered by the MISD School Board?
The MISD Executive Council will review all community feedback from public hearings, e-mails, phone calls and letters and make a recommendation to the Superintendent.
