Welcome back to Thelma Jones Elementary School! We are very excited and happy to begin another wonderful school year. This year our focus is, “Making a Difference in the Life of a Child”. The superintendent has challenged each of us to become advocates for children. We will devote our energy to developing healthy relationships with our students.
We are excited and honored to have your child in our school. We will give your child the best education possible. In helping to develop your child socially, emotionally, and academically; I would like to encourage you to develop the child-parent-school bond by joining the PTA. Research shows that when parent involvement increases so does student achievement. PTA is an enormous part of our community. This year I am challenging parents to join PTA to make a difference in the life of children. PTA sign up will be in the front office.
During the first week of school, parents will be allowed to walk their children directly into the building. Starting August 31, all parents will be directed to the front office where they must check in with a current form of identification.
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience at Thelma Jones Elementary School.
With your help you, we can make a difference in the lives of children. We look forward to a wonderful year.
