NJHS News:

T. A. Howard, in an all school effort, is sponsoring various service drives this fall. During the week of November 30 - December 4 student representatives will be available from each group in the mornings and afternoons to collect items in the front drive during parent drop-off and pick-up. Morning times would be from 8:10 a.m. - 8:37 a.m. and afternoon times would be from 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
We will need NJHS volunteers for the various collection times as well as donations. NJHS has been asked to contribute socks and underwear for needy families. The items must be new and in packages. It does not have to be fancy!! Dollar General and Big Lots! have cute, cute superhero undies for small children as well as socks, etc.!!

We are also continuing to collect travel size (think hotel/motel) toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and such for the Arlington Charities LIIGHT (Leading, Inspiring, and Giving Hope for Teens in Transition) program for homeless teens and young adults. LIIGHT is a drop in center where youth can find food, personal care items, clothing, case management and a safe place to hang out. Those items can be dropped off with either Mrs. Barker or Ms. Shelton at any time throughout the year.

We are pleased to have again been asked to work the Charlotte Anderson Carnival on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from noon until 3:00 p.m. If you would like to volunteer, you can print the attached form. Return the completed form to Mrs. Barker or Ms. Shelton by November 10. If you need a form, see one of the sponsors or click here.

Remember the next meeting will be on Friday, November 13 at 7:45 a.m. in room C-2. It is really important that you are on time. We have been trying to get through our meeting in time to send our students to tutorials and test reviews. If you are late, more than likely you will miss the meeting!!
