• Whiz Quiz- Congratulations to the Howard Whiz Quiz team for our first home competition of the season.  They fought hard last night, but unfortunately lost to Worley by just a few questions.  Almost every member scored points last night, but our Whiz Quizzer of the week scored 30 points!  Please come watch us beat Alvarado next Tuesday in the library!

• Summit Sapphires- Are hosting their annual Spring Dance Clinic on Sat., March 31st.  If you love to perform and dance, come to the front office to pick up a clinic registration form.  All participants receive a T-shirt and an invitation to perform in the Sapphire Spring Show!  It will be a lot of fun!  Hope to see you there!

• Basketball- Way to go 7th grade lady Knight basketball players!  Both teams won their final games on Monday, beating Jobe at Jobe!  The B team had a very successful season with a record of 9 and 3 and winning 1st place in the Midlothian tournament.  The A team will win 1st in district with a record of 13 and 1!  They also won the Midlothian tournament and got first in in the Kennedale tournament as well.  Thanks for a great season, ladies!  Coaches Richardson and Gremillion are super proud of you!

• NJHS- There will be an NJHS meeting Friday morning at 7:45am.  in room C-2.  That's tomorrow!  We will take the NJHS group photo.  Wear you t-shirts!

• Pictures- Picture money will be due on Tues., 2/14.  If you did not get your picture proofs, please contact Top of Texas at 817-473-4568.   

• Track and Tennis Tryouts - Track and tennis seasons are right around the corner.  Both tryouts will begin on February 13th!!  Anyone interested in trying out for either sport MUST have an athletic participation packet on file.  You may not participate if this is not turned in.  You can print this off of the MISD athletic website.

• Semi Formal Sweetheart Dance- Tickets will be sold this Wed.- Fri.  You may purchase before school for $5 or at the door $6.  Semi formal dress is encouraged, but not mandatory.  Class favorites will be announced and crowned at the dance.  See you there!

• Lake Ridge High School - Lake Ridge High School will open next school year, 2012-13.  Here are some upcoming dates for those of you who will be attending next year:  Lake Ridge HS Informational Meeting (Representatives from Fine Arts, Athletics, etc. will be on hand to answer questions.)- Feb. 13th, 6:30-8:30pm, at Willie Pigg Auditorium; PTSA Planning Meeting- Feb. 23rd, 6:30-8:30pm, at Danny Jones MS Cafeteria; PTSA Organizational Meeting- March 20th, 6:30-8:30pm, at Danny Jones MS Cafeteria; you can also follow Lake Ridge HS on Twitter at @LakeRidgeEagles
