Welcome from your PTA Board at Rogene Worley Middle School for the 2007-2008 school year. We are looking forward to a fun and rewarding year for our students, staff and parents.

The PTA has numerous goals for this school year. One of the most important goals is to promote the family by getting our parents more involved in the activities and functions that our PTA is sponsoring. One thing I have already learned as your PTA President is the value of communication. We can’t get parents to volunteer if they don’t know what is happening. So, we will have information posted on the Worley website with a link to PTA, we are excited to have this link fully operational this year. We have many areas you may be interested in volunteering in. Please fill out the volunteer form enclosed in this packet and be a part of the Worley Middle School experience.

We hope you take a moment to look through your PTA packet. Our PTA is a great resource for our school and we hope to successfully offer special activities, programs and learning resources to assist our students, parents and teachers. With our profits from the book fair last year we were able to help the library purchase new books and resource materials.

Some of our PTA activities will include serving ice cream sundaes for honor roll students, teacher appreciation luncheons, book fair, dance concessions, web site communications, clothes closet and a student directory. Our two major PTA fundraisers for the year are: after school concessions, most Fridays, and silent auction baskets, during the Spring Open House. We will also assist with Pioneer Day for the 7th Graders and end of school activities for the 8th Graders.

We have provided you information about the PTA membership, in which we encourage every parent and staff member to join. If you are unable to volunteer you can support PTA by becoming a member.

To keep you informed we hope you will join our PTA and attend our general meetings. Our general meeting times are normally the 4th Thursday of the month, we will be putting these dates on the PTA link on the Worley web site and they will be posted on the front doors of Worley a week prior to the meetings.

If you have any questions or concerns about PTA, Please do not hesitate to call. If you are interested in being on the PTA board there are still several positions available.
