Librarian Mary Beth Foulk Receives NEA's Highest Credential
November 2007 - The Rogene Worley Middle School librarian, Mary Beth Foulk recently received a National Board Certification as an exemplary media specialist. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and assessing teaching standards in a variety of different teaching fields and contexts. It is an evaluation tool that goes beyond the minimum certification requirements set for teachers by states, and aims to establish exemplary guidelines for education professionals. The Board's standards correlate to NCLB's "highly qualified teacher" definition, and it is supported by the National Education Agency as "the teaching professions' highest credential." Congratulations Mary.
