February is Teen Dating Abuse Awareness Month.  The Texas Legislature has passed, and Governor Perry has signed, an act requiring each school district in Texas to adopt and implement a dating violence policy.

Mission Statement

As counselors, it is our job to advocate for students, develop a positive self-identity, and navigate their future to further opportunities beyond our campus.

What is a Middle School Counselor?

School counselors work with all students, school staff, families, and members of the community as an integral part of the education program.  School counseling programs promote school success through a focus on academic acheivemnt, prevention and intervention activities, advocacy and social/emotional and career development.

School counselors work predominately with school related issues.  A school counselor is not a therapist.  When issues go beyond the training of a school counselor, parents are encouraged to seek therapy within the community.
