From the Principal...

One of our campus goals this year is to improve communication.  We send flyers and notes home with students, although we realize parents don't always receive them.  We update our website regularly with current information.  We email a newsletter each six weeks, as well as posting them on the Academic Teams page of our website.  We're on Facebook and Twitter (follow the links on our main webpage.  If you have other ideas about improving communication, please click the link to the eSuggestion box and let me know.

Parents picking up a child during the school day must come in the front doors to the main office and show a driver's license in order to get their child or visit classrooms.

Mrs. Tapia keeps lost and found items in the main office.  Students often assume that items they have misplaced have been stolen and never think to look for them in the Lost and Found.  Please encourage students to check in the office when missing items.

Our school's Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) Committee meets regularly to discuss campus issues, advise me, and approve campus staff development.  The committee includes parents, community members, business leaders, teachers, and other staff members.  Each year the SBDM Committee reviews the Campus Action Plan (CAP).  The 2009-10 CAP can be viewed (in two parts) at the following links:

We believe that our Coyotes will benefit from learning an organizational system and from keeping their materials organized throughout the school year.  We've instituted the COBLE (Creating Organization to Benefit Learning Excellence) binder this year.  Teachers will help students set up their binders and teach them how to keep the binder organized.  COBLE binders will be checked and graded throughout the year.  As important part of the COBLE binder is the student planner.  Each student receives a student planner when they receive a schedule.  They will write classroom activities, homework assignments, and school activities in their planners daily, and will keep the planners in their binders.  Please check your child's binder daily to monitor what's happening in class.  Also, please see our school's main webpage to view our School Supply List.
